This year the show is “Jetsetters! A Global Musical Romp” A Group of students on their way to summer camp in Middle-Of-Nowhere, North Dakota. At the airport, they realize that the airline has mixed up their flight, giving them all free round-the-world tickets – they decide to go on an adventure together! Zany antics ensue, and through their travels, they learn about other cultures — and themselves. Drawing from family-favorite musicals such as “The Sound of Music,” “Frozen,” “The Lion King” and many others, Eric and Emilia will work with the campers of both groups to create an original musical adventure! Be prepared for two weeks of singing, dancing, acting, and having a blast!
Eric William Jones is an actor, director, musician, and mask maker from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In his youth, he was heavily involved with local performing arts companies for youth including the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. After he received his BA in Theatre from Macalester College in St. Paul, MN, he worked with many theatre companies in the Midwest, including Frank Theater, Walking Shadow Theatre Company, and Milwaukee Cooperative Performance, and served as vice president on the board of directors for Gadfly Theatre Productions. He has worked with theatre companies internationally, including Fighting Chance Productions (Vancouver, CA) and with performing artist, Gianni Bruschi (Italy). He has taught theatre to children of all ages – from creative play with Kindergarteners to vocal coaching and directing a high school production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “Phantom of the Opera.” Eric is currently an MFA student at Dell’Arte International School of Physical Theatre in Blue Lake, CA, graduating in June of 2018. He has also studied mask work at the Accademia dell’Arte in Italy and prosthetic makeup at Vancouver Film School in Canada.
Emilia Björk is a Swedish actress, movement artist, and songwriter. She started to sing in public at the age of 2, when she performed on the dinner table at one of her grandmother’s birthday parties. Her interest for the stage and the arts grew during her teens when she pursued a high school degree with special focus in theatre and dance. During these years, she was also involved in ensembles that practiced musical theatre, acrobatics and juggling during the evening hours. When she was 19, she moved to Stockholm where she attended Kulturama Institute of the Arts for 2 years with a focus in physical theatre. During these years, she co-founded the Swedish company “Teater7” that toured in Sweden and Norway. In 2014 she decided to leave Sweden to pursue higher education in the US. She has spent the past 3 years at Dell’Arte International School of Physical Theatre in Blue Lake, California, where she graduates in June 2017 with a masters degree equivalent in ensemble based physical theatre. She has been teaching workshops and camps for many years to both children and adults in Sweden and California.
